Black Knights do a lot for the community

By Staff | Feb 7, 2014

If word hasn’t gotten out yet, it should. The Black Knights Car Club of Estherville has done an incredible amount to help local organizations and persons in need.

A recent compilation shows the Black Knights as an organization have given $9,650 to 58 worthy groups and individuals.

Here are just a few of the groups that have benefitted:

n ELC Youth Wrestling.

n Estherville Community Christmas Project.

n Dunnell Fire Department.

n Wallingford Fire Department.

n Shayla Bee Fund.

n Estherville Halloween Association.

n Friends of the Estherville Public Library.

n Estherville VFW.

n Iowa Lakes Community College scholarships.

n Girl Scouts.

n City of Gruver.

n Terril Fire Department.

n Estherville Fire Department.

n Northwest Iowa Community College scholarship.

On top of that, dozens of persons have benefitted.

Most recently, the black Knights pledged a $10 donation for each member as of Dec. 31, 2013, resulting in $1,060 to the Estherville Fire Department for a new truck. They would like to challenge other clubs and organizations to a similar challenge to pledge $10 per member.

The Black Knights are always looking for new members – anyone who loves antique or classic cars. You don’t have to own one. You just need to love them.

Meetings are 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month at the Estherville Post 3388 VFW trophy room.
