Hats off to RSVP volunteers
Emmet County RSVP volunteers deserve a huge pat on the back for their volunteerism.
According to Emmet County RSVP coordinator Linda Anderson, in the final quarter of 2014, this energetic cadre of 93 volunteers 55 and better donated 767 hours in October, 421 in November and 629 in December.
Following are some of the highlights of their volunteerism:
n 31 transportation requests were filled by volunteers.
n One American Red Cross blood drive was held. Volunteers gave 29 hours.
n 109 hours were given at Avera Holy Family.
n Emmet County Historical Museum received 347 hours.
n Volunteers gave 26 hours at Rosewood Manor.
n Estherville Chamber of Commerce received 10 hours.
n Volunteers gave 227 hours at Estherville Senior Center.
n 61 hours were given at Estherville Schools.
n Iowa Lakes Community College received 64 hours.
n Estherville Good Samaritan Society received 46 hours.
n Estherville Public Library received 151 hours.
n 133 hours were given at UDMO.
n Valley Vue Care Center received 15 hours.
n 10 hours were given to the Halloween Association.
n 53 hours were given to Elderbridge.
n Thrifty’s received 135 hours.
