Six Feet? Cover Your Mouth, Wash Your Hands, Don’t Touch Your Face
Most of us have heard this since we started walking. Going back to college days, a germ needs three things to survive-a warm temperature, a moist environment and restricted light or darkness.
When we cough or sneeze, we are expelling what ever germs we have into the environment in a warm wet environment. If don’t cover our mouth it goes everywhere, waiting for someone to put the germs on their hands to spread to themselves or others. This is why you don’t touch your face. By touching your mouth, nose or eyes, you have just put the germs into your body. That is why you wash your hands.
Now for the situation at hand, the Corona Virus. If we are going to upset with the government for closing the school’s restaurants etc., we need to look at ourselves first. If we are not willing to do our part to help stop the spread of the virus, the government needs to help.
If you are not following the rules that we have been told since we could walk, we are helping to spread the virus. If we are going out into the public when we are sick, we are helping to spread the virus. If we have been somewhere high risk for the virus and be continue to go out into public and don’t voluntarily quarantine ourselves, we are helping to spread the virus.
If you know someone who is bragging about going on a cruise or coming from Egypt or Europe and they are running around don’t admire them, thank them for being part of the reason that the schools, restaurants and theatres are closed.
We need to be smart during this pandemic, not in fear.
Be smart and follow the simple rules. Cover your mouth when you sneeze. Sneeze into your elbow or shoulder, NOT IN YOUR HANDS!!! Keep your hands away from your face. Wash your hands. And they are strongly recommending that you keep a distance of six feet from people. And if you are sick, stay home and isolate yourself.
If everyone is smart and we work together, we will get through this in shortest period possible. If one person doesn’t follow these simple rules. The length of this pandemic will be extended.
Thank you and stay healthy.
