Cold days create time for web surfing
The cold days of January are the perfect time to go surfing, web surfing that is. If the cold days find you having a little more time inside, try out some of the following web sites. From time to time, I will share some useful, education sites with you. eXtension’s new online resource, Just in Time Parenting
Beginning in February 2008, parents can subscribe to monthly “just in time” e-newsletters, keyed to the age of each subscriber’s child. When you are on that page, click on the word, more within the blue rectangle in the upper left corner. Once you are there, you will see the tab, popular tags on the right side of the page. Some of the tags included are personal finance and horses to name a few. Click on the one that interests you and you will find a wealth of information. More eXtension pages will be added.
Our county has a webpage that has lots of information on it as well. To get there, go to the Iowa State University Extension page at http://www.extension.iastate.edu/ After you search there and believe me, there is a wealth of information there, you can click on the tab, our offices, then click on Emmet and voila, you are at our Emmet County site. You will find our office number, links to publications, hotlines, schedule of events, forms, newsletters plus more. You can get to the Iowa State University site from there as well.
Another useful site website, http://www.mymoney.gov/ and accompanying toll free hotline, 1-888-696-6639, helps Americans easily access information that can help them better understand their money – how to save, invest and manage it wisely to meet important personal goals. This site will grow over time with more information on lots of different topics so you are encouraged to visit often. Stay warm surfing. Until next week.
