Parks & Rec Board: less sure about Thoreson pool

The Parks & Rec Board meeting Monday went long with possible snag in land sale

Monday night's Estherville Parks & Rec Board meeting went long, due in part to what started as a brief pool committee update.

City administrator Penny Clayton said a verbal agreement with Don & Wanda Christensen to purchase 16 acres of land located north of the park for approximately $10,000 per acre has changed to having possibly three acres available at $15-19,000. Reached for comment, Don Christensen said, "Nothing was definite, and we're willing to work with [the City]."

See Thursday's edition of the Estherville News for the full story, and an update on initial plans for a new dog park in Spurgin Park.
