Bowlers earn gold at state -Estherville team earns nine golds

ESTHERVILLE–Eleven athletes from the Estherville Parks and Recreation Special Olympic Team participated in the state bowling tournament Nov. 17 at the AMF Des Moines Lanes.

The athletes earned nine gold medals, one silver and a fourth-place finish were received.

Each athlete bowled two games. Total score was determined by adding each athletes handicap twice to the total of the two games.

Those attending, their scores and placings are as follows.

Bowling Doubles

Division 30-50:

Sandy Porter bowled 369 and Donna Zerke a 382 for a team total of 751 to earn a pair of gold medals.

Bowling singles

Division 30-50

Bruce Dubberke bowled a 306 for a silver medal.

Four Member Bowling

Team Division 300-50

Ryan Foster bowled 361, Jesse Hatland367, Paul Voetman 344 and Ryan Williams 399 for a team total of 1,471 to earn four golds.

Bowling Singles

Division 12-15.

Krystal Tendal bowled 368 for gold.

Bowling Doubles

Division 16-21

Ethan Hatland bowled 367 and Connor Probst bowled 426 for a team score of 793 to earn gold.

Bowling Singles Assisted Division 16-21

Ashley Stubbs earned fourth place.
