G/T, SLP face off in George

GEORGE — If Graettinger/Terril wrestling gave Spirit Lake Park a battle as the two teams met in George on Tuesday. The Knights were a few wrestlers short though and ended up with a 36-29 loss to the Indians. Both teams handled George-Little Rock with ease with the Knights winning 55-18 and SLP winning 65-18.

Spirit Lake Park won three of the contested matches against G/T. At 140, Grant Willard won 4-2 over Michael Jensen; Brett Goldtrap (152) won by fall over Taylor Harris and Tyler Ahrenstorff (171) won 9-4 over Josh Anderson.

The Knights won five contested matches. James Tatman (103) pinned Lewis Johnson in 2:57; Logan Tonderum (145) won by decision over Cullin Andera; Kass Schany (160) pinned Nolan Meyer in 1:37; Jake Hoffman (189) won a decision over Kyle Kruger and Kyle Brown pinned Wade Franek in :257.

Accepting forfeits for Spirit Lake Park were Chase Peterson (112), Derrick Miner (125), Dillon Miner (135) and Alex Will (215).

Ryan Schany (112) received a forfeit for the Knights.

G/T 55, G-LR 18

The Knights won all the contested matches against George Little-Rock.

Jensen (135) pinned Will Kroge in 7:20; Tonderum (140) won by fall over Aaron Stettnicks; Hoffman (189) pinned Kyle McComes in 1:55 and Kyle Brown won by fall over Dustin Modder.

Receiving forfeits for the Knights were Tatman, Ryan Schany, Taylor Harris, Heath Marchand (152), Kass Schany and Josh Anderson.

SLP 65, G-LR 18

The Indians also won the contest matches. Derrick Miner (125) earned his 100th career win with a technical fall, 18-3. Kruger (189), Alex Will (215) and Franek (285), all had pins. Receiving forfeits were Johnson (103), Peterson (112), Dillon Miner (130), Willard (140), Goldtrap (152), Meyer (160), Ahrenstorff (171).
