Knights falter in fourth quarter
EVERLY — After holding a slim lead most of three quarters, the Graettinger/Terril boys basketball team suddenly went cold in the fourth period.
The Knights managed just three points in the final frame as host Clay Central-Everly pulled out a 39-29 victory on Tuesday.
“Every is a tough place to play,” said G/T coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “CCE has good size, shooters and experience.”
G/T took an 8-5 lead after one quarter, but the Mavericks tied the game at 17-17 at halftime. The third quarter was a seesaw battled with the Knights holding a 26-25 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Tyler Leiting led G/T with 12 points and six rebounds. Dalton Perrin had six points and seven rebounds.
G/T (4-9) is on the road at West Bend on Friday.
