ELC ‘D’ dominates again

Class 3A No. 13 Estherville Lincoln Central held visiting Emmetsburg scoreless in the third quarter and to just three points in the final frame in a 57-13 victory on Thursday.

ELC jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the opening frame with Emily Jensen scored the first six points for ELC.

Taylor Larson and Christa Clayton both hit 3-pointers in the second quarter as ELC extended its lead to 27-10 at halftime.

A 9-0 run to start the third quarter forced Emmetsburg to take a timeout, but the deluge of points didn’t stop.

ELC outscored the E’Hawks 20-0 in the frame to take a 47-10 lead into the final quarter.

Taylor Larson came off the bench to lead ELC in scoring with 14 points. Alex Olesen also had a career-high 12 points off the bench.

Christa Clayton had 11 points while jensen ended with eight.

Kensen and Olesen both had six rebounds while Melanie Bandow and Christa Clayton each had three steals.

ELC (15-2, 11-1) hosts No. 4 Spirit Lake on Tuesday.
