Lakers cruise past Buena Vista JV

The Iowa Lakes women’s basketball team got a break from region play hosting the Buena Vista Junior Varsity on Thursday.

The Lakers cruised to a 47-21 halftime lead on the way to an 81-51 victory.

“It’s nice to have a home game. We definitely shot better and our defense played a little better,” said Iowa Lakes coach Brian Radtke. “Karissa (Kramer) played the passing lanes real well.”

Kramer had a team-high 11 of the team’s 20 steals. She also had eight assists and two blocked shots to go along with her 14 points.

Samantha Boje, who has had the hot hand in two of the last three games, came through with a big night. She had 22 points with three 3-pointers along with 5-of-5 from the free throw line.

Jazzmine Hall also reached double digits with 12 points.

Iowa Lakes (13-5) travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. to take on the Sioux Falls University JV on Monday.
