Mustangs back on track

ARMSTRONG — The Armstrong-Ringsted girls basketball team is now within a game a .500 record after a 43-36 win over Ventura on Friday.

A-R (7-8, 5-2) pulled away from a 14-14 halftime tie to win 43-36.

“In the fourth quarter, we finally got a little distance by stepping our our defense,” said A-R assistant coach Keilah Redman.

A-R led 9-6 after the first quarter and pulled away to a 29-23 lead after three quarters.

Brianne Gonzales led a-R with 10 points while Rosie Cheever had nine points and a team-high 13 rebounds. Morgan Grabinoski also had nine points while Michele Iris had eight points and 10 rebounds.

A-R hosts North Sentral Kossuth at 4 p.m. today.
