Lakers take care of Cougars
The Iowa Lakes men’s basketball team took care of business on Saturday with an 84-58 victory over clinton.
The Lakers built a 39-26 halftime lead and also won the second half, 45-32.
Mike Betts led three Lakes in double digits with 17 points. Jimmie Marshall contributed 5 points and five steals while Cornelius Vines had 13 points.
The Lakers did well sharing the basketball with 24 assists led by Zach Fenceroy with eight.
Iowa Lakes out-rebounded the Cougars 59-34 which included 26 offensive boards. Jackson Parr had a team-high 15 rebounds.
Iowa Lakes was 10-of-28 from 3-point range for 35.7 percent with Vines making 4-of-12.
Iowa Lakes (15-5, 5-1) traveled to Mitchell, S.D. on Monday to play the Dakota Wesleyan Junior Varsity.
