Spirit Lake bounces back against Braves

CHEROKEE — The Spirit Lake boys basketball team bounced back from their loss to Spencer with a 44-38 win over Cherokee on Friday.

Spirit Lake trailed 14-13 after one quarter and 23-21 at halftime, but rallied to take a 35-32 lead to start the fourth.

Mason Bergquist was the lone Indian to reach double digits with 13 points. Scott Maudlin had nine points while Tyler Solsma and Andy Pringnitz each chipped in eight points. Pringnitz had a team-high eight rebounds.

Spirit Lake (12-4, 7-4) travels to Estherville tonight.
