No. 5 Wolfpack too much for Indians

SPIRIT LAKE — The Spirit Lake boys basketball team has had success this season, but Class 2A No. 5 Western Christian was too much for the Indians on Friday.

The Wolfpack jumped out to a 28-14 first-quarter lead and the Indians never made a dent in the lead in the 87-52 Western Christian victory.

Western Christian led 42-22 at halftime and 64-40 after three quarters as the visitors shot 63 percent from the floor compared to just 42 percent by Spirit lake.

Tyler Solsma led the Indians with 17 points while Andy Pringnitz recorded a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Scott Maudlin had nine points and Mason Bergquist chipped in eight points and Boomer Dreeszen had two

Spirit Lake (12-5, 7-5) hosts South O’Brien today.
