Midgets fall to Jackson – Grems leads ELC with 16 points

JACKSON, Minn. — The Estherville Lincoln Central boys basketball team went across the border for the annual game against Jackson County Central and returned with an 85-51 loss on Saturday.

The Blue Jays jumped out to a 27-16 lead in the first quarter and never trailed while leading 43-29 at halftime and 72-39 after three quarters.

Kyle Grems led ELC with 16 points while Marcus Stangl had eight and Caleb Caboth had seven. Dylan Sievert, Scott Schmidt and Aaron Andrews each had five points while Matt Gruhlke and Collin Klingbeil each had two points.

ELC JV boys improve to 8-7

JACKSON, Minn. — The Estherville Lincoln Central junior varsity basketball team improved to 8-7 with a 52-40 win over Jackson County Central on Saturday.

ELC led 14-5 after one quarter, 26-14 at halftime and 42-30 after three quarters.

Spencer Johnson led ELC with 18 points while Jacob Perkins had nine points, Cody Prather had eight points, Jeremy Hunt had seven, Alex Arends had six and Jake Lange had four.

ELC frosh boys challenge Spencer

SPENCER — The Estherville Lincoln Central freshman boys basketball team lost to Spencer, 41-39, on Saturday.

Nate Jensen led ELC with 14 points while Tyler Lutz had 12 and Aaron Lindell had eight.
