Knights raided – Leiting scores 21 for G/T
GRAETTINGER — The Graettinger/Terril boys basketball team struggled against one of the top teams in the Cornbelt Conference as Ruthven-Ayrshire came to town on Friday.
The Raiders led from start to finish, taking a 21-12 lead after one quarter, 42-25 at halftime and 53-31 after three quarters on the way to a 74-45 victory.
“We played hard, but RA physically out-played us tonight,” said G/T coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “Our kids gave it their best, but RA has a great team this year.”
The coach said the Raiders are disciplined, play mostly juniors and seniors and have balanced scoring.
“We held them to 11 points in the third quarter and aid a good job of getting to the free throw line throughout the game,” Dyhrkopp said.
However, G/T was 15-of-29 from the charity stripe.
The Knights were led by Tyler Leiting with 21 points with Cody Dyhrkopp pouring in 16 points.
Dalton Perrin and Beau Craig each had four points. Perrin also had a team-high seven assists.
G/T (5-11) is at West Bend-Mallard on Monday.
