Indians victorious in season finale

EMMETSBURG — A big third quarter, gave Spirit Lake the momentum it needed to beat Emmetsburg 41-36 on Friday.

For the Indians, it was the final regular season game as they end the year with a 16-5 record overall and 11-5 in the Lakes Conference.

The Indians led 11-8 after one quarter, but were outs-scored 15-6 in the second by the E’Hawks to trail 23-17 at halftime.

Spirit Lake picked up the pace in the third quarter to pull ahead 35-34 and then won the low-scoring fourth quarter, 6-2.

Andy Pringnitz led the Indians with 16 points and five rebounds. Mason Bergquist added 12 points and Tyler Solsma had eight points.

Spirit Lake opens 3A district play at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18 hosting MOC-Floyd Valley.
