Wolves pull away from G/T Knights

By Staff | Feb 19, 2008

LAKE PARK — After a decent start, Graettinger/Terril just couldn’t keep up with Harris-Lake park in the Class 1A game on Saturday.

The Knights led 9-8 after one quarter, and trailed 22-17 at halftime, but the Wolves went on a 15-6 run in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

“We played hard, but couldn’t not find any rhythm on offense and gave up too many easy baskets in the second half,” said G/T coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “Their defense rally gave us trouble and we had trouble finding their shooters.”

The Knights were led by Drew Skattebo with nine points while Tyler Leiting ended with eight and Beau Craig had seven. Craig also led the rebounding with 10 boards.

Kyle Ingwersen led the Wolves with 14 points.

The Knights end the season with a 5-12 record. Two seniors, Tyler Leiting and Dalton Perrin, played in their final high school game.

“Both have worked hard during their whole career and been very good leaders on and off the court,” said Dyhrkopp. “We’ll be sorry to see them go.”
