Laker softball team rolls over Central Community College
COLUMBUS, Neb. — Iowa Lakes completed its three-day road trip on Monday with a stop in Columbus, Neb., to play Central Community College.
The result was a pair of wins for the Lakers by scores of 10-1 and 24-0. Iowa Lakes improves to 8-1 on the season and will play again this Friday in Orlando, Fla., with three games slated for the first day of their spring trip.

Iowa Lakes scored a run in the first with an RBI single by Stephanie Ochoa and two more in the fourth with an RBI triple by Kristina Manser and single by Andrea Hacker. After Central scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, Iowa Lakes put the game away with three in fifth and four in fourth to win 10-1 in six innings. Kimmie White was 3-3 with 1 RBI, Manser 2-4 with 1 RBI, Hacker 2-4 with 1 RBI and Jamie Sorensen 2-4 with 2 RBIs. Aly Bowers pitched all six innings to move her record to 5-0 on the season.

Game two was a record setting performance by the Laker offense as Iowa Lakes would send 23 batters to the plate in the second inning and score a record 18 runs in the inning and go on to the 24-0 win. Hacker was 3-3 with 4 RBIs, Manser 3-3 with 1 RBI, Caiti Block 2-2 and Camiel Salcedo 2-3 with 3 RBIs. Lauren Smith faced the minimum to throw a no hitter in getting her first collegiate win. Eleven different Lakers scored and nine different Lakers had RBIs.
