Indians win three events at indoor
STORM LAKE — The Spirit Lake Park girls track team garnered three first-place finishes at the 2008 Lakes Conference Indoor Track Meet on Tuesday.
Carrie Emgarten had a hand in two first places as she won the 1500-meter run in 5:39.89. She also ran the lead leg in the winning 4×800-meter relay. She, Christina Hanson, Megan Skalbeck and Briana Brunsvold finished in 10:46.91.
Kylie Ingvall led a 1-2 finish in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 28.41 seconds with Megan Lawler finishing in 28.83. Megan Ingvall added a sixth place in the event in 31.09.
The Indians went 2-3 in the shot put with Jen Kirschbaum setting a SLP indoor meet record of 37 feet, 4 inches. Amber Kirschbaum was third with a throw of 35 feet.
The Indians 4×400-meter relay of Deni Peters, Alex Horsman, Laura Rowe and Amber Kirschbaum was second in 4:39.36.
Also second was the 4×200-meter relay team of Megan Lawler, Kylie Ingvall, Horsman and Rowe in 1:54.77. That was also an SLP indoor record.
Hanson added a third place finish in the 1500-meter run in 5:44.89
The Indians went 2-4 in the High jump with Skalbeck jumping 4 feet, 10 inches and Amber Kirschbaum jumping 4-6.
In the long jump, Caila Jones was sixth with a leap of 14 feet, 2 inches.
