G/T track teams earn top finishes
SPENCER — Although small in numbers, the Graettinger/Terril girls and boys track teams still had several top five finishes at their first meet on Friday.
“It was a very good first meet of the year both with the weather and with our results,” said G/T coach Karlton Hector. “We haven’t had a lot of outdoor practice time, so to see the kids perform this well the first time out was nice to see.”
In girls action, Amanda Kropf took second in the discus with a throw of 84 feet, 5 inches and fourth in the shot put with a throw of 27 feet, 2 inches.
Lindsay Flaharty took second int he 400-meter dash in 1:09.04 and third in the 100 in 14.38 seconds and third in the 200 in 30.82 seconds.
Amanda Oleson finished first in the 800-meter run in 2:46.98.
In boys action, Dillon Thiner took first in the 400-mter dash in 57.21 seconds and third in the 200-meter dash in 25.78 seconds.
Joel McGrauth placed third in the shot put with a throw of 39 feet, 7 inches and fourth in the discus with a throw of 80 feet, 7 inches.
Michael Lynch placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 39 feet, 2 inches.
