Lakers down Western Tech at home

BOONE, ESTHERVILLE — After a rough weekend dropping four games to Des Moines Area Community College in Region XI play, the Iowa Lakes baseball team came up with two wins over Western Tech at home on Monday.
The Lakers beat the visitors 11-5 and 12-0.
Andru Kuilan hit three home runs in the first game while Jose Andino and Michael Jimenez also sent one out of Hess-Limberg field in the win.
On the mound, Isaias Rosario earned the victory.
In game two, Adalberto Rivera and Kuilan both hits home runs as the Lakers out-hit Western Tech 13-2.
Paul Choquette earned the victory on the mound.
Iowa Lakes (16-14) hosts Minnesota West in a doubleheader on Thursday with the first game at 3 p.m.
Over the weekend, Iowa Lakes lost 13-2 and and 8-6 on Saturday to DMACC and 9-4 and 11-8 to Bears on Sunday.
Jose Ayala had two home runs and Edgardo Aulet and Brian Bravo each had one in the 8-6 loss on Saturday.
Ricardo Navarro took the loss in game one and Ivan Rodriguez took the loss in game two.
In game one Sunday, Luis Moran and Jimenez each had a home run with Kenny Tomek taking the loss on the mound.
Jose Andino had two home runs and Moran had one in the second loss. Marcos Lozano took the loss.
