Lakers win back two games from Blackhawks
After struggling to hold on against Southeastern Community College in two games on Monday, the Iowa Lakes baseball team regrouped on Tuesday to take two from the visitors.
Behind winning pitcher Ricardo Navaro, the Lakers shut out Southeastern in game one Tuesday, 3-0. The visitors had just two hits.
Iowa Lakes scored all three of its runs in teh third inning.
In the second game, the Lakers trailed 3-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh and scored three runs to send the game into extra innings. The visitors scored a run in the top, but the Lakers came back with two runs for the 5-4 victory.
Victor Morales earned the win on the mound.
On Monday, Southeastern came up with a walkoff home run in the top of the seventh to pull out a 5-4 victory.
Isaias Rosario took the loss for the Lakers.
In the second game, Southeastern broke open a 0-0 ball game with thre runs in the top of the fifth inning. Iowa Lakes answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning, but couldn’t resopnde to the four-run sixth inning by the visitors in the 7-3 loss.
Iowa Lakes improves to 18-6 overall and 5-11 in Region XI.
