Mini-Midgets avenge losses in final tourney

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Estherville seventh-grade Mini-Midgets won the “Ultimate Tournament” in Sioux Falls this past weekend. The team defeated Sioux Falls Synergy 46-25, Laverne 51-20, and Sioux Falls Swish 42-31. In the final game, the Mini-Midgets avenged two of their losses with a 43-37 win over the Sioux Falls All-Stars Force.

The team had a good showing in the contests as well with all seven members earning a spot in the top 10 in two of the three challenges.

Hannah Johnson brought home the hardware for the hot shot and 3-point shooting contest while Maggie McCauley wont he free throw contest.

Coaches Jeff Sievert and Kathy McCauley are pleased with the work ethic demonstrated by the entire group as well in achieving academic excellence in making the A honor roll.

The coaches extend their appreciation to the parents for all their support.

The Mini-Midgets end the season with a 43-3 record.
