ELC falls to Indians

SPIRIT LAKE — The Estherville Lincoln Central girls golf team lost to Spirit Lake 406 to 471 on Monday at Okoboji View Golf Course.

The two teams played 18 holes with Spirit Lake’s Nikki Neilsen taking medalist honors with a 94 on identical nine-hole rounds of 47 while Ashley Neilsen shot a 97 for runner-up honors with rounds of 47 and 50.

ELC was led by Macy Milburn with a 110 as she shot rounds of 54 and 56.

“We know she can shoot this and lower and hopefully now has the confidence to keep it up,” said ELC coach Kevin Richardson.

Megan Woods shot a 117 with rounds of 62 and 55.

“Megan shot a season low on the back nine and has done a nice job at the high varsity spot,” said Richardson.

Jordan Jacobson had a 121 on rounds of 61 and 60 and Taylor Heinrichs had a 123 on rounds of 62 and 61.

Anna Bruns finished with a 129 on rounds of 61 and 68.

“Jordan, Taylor and Anna all had nice rounds and are starting to get some consistency to their game,” said Richardson. “It will be exciting to see just how they all can do give some good outside practice and a little more experience.”

Also playing, Haley Dalen shot a 145 and Julie Wilson a 146.

Rounding out the Indians’ scores wee Emily Ayres with a 106 on rounds of 52 and 56s and a 107 from Regan Sieperda on rounds of 55 and 52.

Non-counting scores were a 110 from Maureen Owens, a 114 from Katie Hansen and a 115 from Leah Hilpipre.
