Lakers win three of four versus Ellsworth
IOWA FALLS — The Iowa Lakes baseball team took three out of four games against Ellsworth this past weekend.
On Saturday, the Lakers pulled out a 5-4 victory by breaking a 4-4 tie with a run in the top of the seventh. Isaias Rosario was the winning pitcher with Andru Kuilan pounding out a home run.
On Sunday, the Panthers got a game back, this time holding off a Lakers’ seventh-inning rally for a 5-4 win. Ivan Rodriguez ended up with the loss.
Iowa Lakes dominated the last two games of the series with a 6-0 victory behind the pitching of Rodriguez.
Winning pitcher Kenny Tomek had plenty of support in the final game of the series with a 16-5 victory. Edgardo Aulet pounded out two home runs in the victory.
Iowa Lakes (20-18, 7-13) played Minnesota West on Monday. The Lakers host Western Tech today.
