LEMARS — The Spirit Lake girls golf team showed its depth in winning a Lakes Conference triangular in LeMars on Tuesday.

The Indians had five scores in the 40s, but unfortunately two of them were on the junior varsity, according to coach Bob Kirchner.

Spirit Lake still had the top two golfers as Ashley Nielsen earned medalist honors with a 44 while sister Nikki Nielsen came in with a 48 for runnerup honors.

The Indians carded a 193 with Cherokee second with 231 and LeMars shooting a 241.

Regan Sieperda shot a 49 and Katie Hansen had a 52 to round out the scoring.

Kirchner said he had two 49s on the JV squad.

Non-counting scores were Emily Ayres with a 56 and Maureen Owens with a 62.
