ELC girls take fifth at Sibley
SIBLEY — The Estherville Lincoln Central girls golf team placed fifth out of 11 schools at the Sibley Invite on Tuesday.
With the top six earning medals, Macy Milburn shot a 50 for the third straight meet and placed sixth overall.
“She is doing a nice job and obviously has consistency with three 50s in a row,” said ELC coach Kevin Richards.
Megan Woods, jordan Jacobson and Krista Low each shot career low scores.
Jacobson had a 55 while Woods and Lowe each carded 58s to round out ELC’s scoring.
“They are really coming around and doing a good job,” said Richardson.
Okoboji took tope honors with a 200 as they edged Spirit Lake by a stroke.
The Indians 201 effort was led by Nikki Nielsen, who placed second overall with a 46.
Rounding out Spirit Lake’s scores were Ashley Nielsen with a 50, Maureen Owens with a 52 and Emily Ayres with a 53.
Non-counting scores were a 55 by Laura Hilpipre and a 57 by Regan Sieperda.
Sibley-Ocheyedan was third with a 207 followed by Sheldon with 215. LeMars placed sixth with a 221 (ELC won the tiebreaker), cherokee carded a 225, Central Lyon had a 226 and George-Little Rock had a 242. Western Christian and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn also had golfers at the meet.
