ELC shoots season low

SPIRIT LAKE — The Estherville Lincoln Central girls golf team carded a season-low 214 to place second in a Lakes Conference triangular on Thursday.

Spirit Lake won with a 201 while Sheldon carded a 218.

Spirit Lake’s Nikki Nielsen was medalist with a 44 while Sheldon’s Kelsey Bruns shot a 49 for runnerup honors.

ELC was led by Macy Milburn with a 50. Jordan Jacobson shot a season-low 51 and Paige Evans also shot a season-best 55. The fourth score was a 58 by Megan Woods.

“All four are really starting to play consistent golf now and that’s what we have to have to do well,” said ELC coach Kevin Richardson.

Non-counting scores were a 63 by Taylor Heinrichs and a 75 by Krista Lowe.

Rounding out Spirit Lake’s scores were a 50 from Emily Ayres, a 53 from Katie Hansen and a 54 from Regan Sieperda.

Non-counting scores were a 55 from Laura Hilpipre and a 56 by Maureen Owens.

The ELC junior varsity won with a 234.

Brooke Johnson led the way with a 54 while Haley Dalen shot a 56, Katie Lowe a 61 and Julie Wilson a 63.

“Brooke and Haley both shot season lows,” said Richardson.

Non-counting score was a 65 by Melissa Radmaker.
