Tonderum’s races pace Mustangs
ALGONA — With the seniors absent from the lineup, the Armstrong-Ringsted boys track team didn’t score as many points.
“We didn’t run any relays,” said A-R coach Tom Elliott. “I had just 11 guys and we just ran open events.”
Tyler Tonderum’s two second-place finishes paced the Mustangs. He ran the 100-meter dash in 11.31 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 23.16 seconds.
In the high jump, Travis Hantelman placed third with a leap of 5 feet, 10 inches while Ethan Eisenbacher was sixth at 5 feet, 8 inches.
Mortan Vermehren placed third in the 400-meter dash in 55.6 seconds.
Eisenbacher placed fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.08 seconds and sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 66.1 seconds.
Also, Craig Tigges placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 123 feet, 10 1/2 inches.
West Hancock won the meet with 162 points while Bishop Garrigan was second with 130 followed by Pocahontas with 95, Garner-Hayfield with 83, A-R with 35, North Sentral Kossuth with 33 and Ruthven-Ayrshire with 14.
