Mustangs improve to 2-0
ARMSTRONG — Twin River Valley’s brief 1-0 lead didn’t last long on Wednesday.
After giving up a run in the top of the first inning, Armstrong-Ringsted came back with seven runs in the bottom of the inning.
While the Mustangs led 13-4 after four innings, the game didn’t end until Tyler Tonderum’s two-run home run over the left-center field fence in the sixth inning. That stopped the game on the 10-run rule.
The first inning started simply with Dillion McBride singling and Tyler Tonderum and Ridge Christiansen both drawing walks.
Logan Anderson and Brett Tigges both drove in runs on fielder’s choices the Travis Hantelman was hit by a pitch. A line drive to the second baseman by Shaun Ash was dropped which brought in a run. Spencer Claussen also drew a walk and Ethan Eisenbacher had an RBI single. A couple wild pitches helped A-R score too.
On the mound, Christiansen had a solid outing as he gave up six hits with six strikeouts and no walks.
