Marshall signs with E. New Mexico

After playing two seasons for Iowa Lakes Community College, Jimmie Marshall will continue his basketball and academic career at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico.

Marshall, a 5’10” guard from Milwaukee, Wisc., averaged 12.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.5 steals his sophomore year for the Lakers. He helped Iowa Lakes to a 21-10 overall record and a 9-5 record in the region. At the conclusion of the season, Marshall was named Second Team All-Region in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

“Jimmie greatly improved in his two seasons at Iowa Lakes,” said Head Coach Troy Larson. “He is a coachable kid who gives great effort. He will be very successful at Eastern New Mexico.”

At Eastern New Mexico State, Marshall will play for Coach Shawn Scanlan and will look to make an impact in the Lone Star Conference in NCAA Division II.

Renard signs to wrestle at Iowa Lakes

Iowa Lakes Community College’s newly formed wrestling program has signed John Renard to an NJCAA national letter of intent in preparation of the college’s first official season this fall.

Renard, from Clarkshore, N.J., is a three-time all-conference wrestler, and has a career 115-29 record. He made it to state his senior year; finishing third. He will look to wrestle in the 133 pound weight class for the Lakers.
