No. 1 Braves limit Indians to two hits

SPIRIT LAKE — Class 2A top-rated Cherokee had too much power for Spirit Lake as the Braves beat the Indians 16-1 in four innings.

Cherokee pounded out 12 hits to just two for Spirit Lake.

Derrick Miner pitched two innings in the loss. He struck out three batters, walked three and gave up eight hits.

Kyle Heidebrink pitched one inning and gave up three walks and two hits.

Nik Erickson pitched one inning. He gave up two hits.

At the plate, Ethan Carlson and Nik Erickson both were 1-2.
