Spirit Lake pulls out fifth win

ARMSTRONG – An early 4-1 lead by Armstrong-Ringsted didn’t hold up against Spirit Lake as the Indians rallied for an 11-6 victory on Tuesday.

Ethan Carlson earned the win on the mound as he gave up six hits with nine strikeouts, two walks and one hit batter.

Logan Anderson took the loss for the Mustangs. He pitched three innings and gave up four hits and seven walks.

Clausen pitched the next two innings giving up four hits with two strikeouts and three walks.

McBride closed out the final two innings, gave up no hits with three strikeouts and one walk.

At the plate, Ryan jennings was 1-3 with a home run. Carlson was 2-5 with a double and an RBI, Mitch Peschon was 1-3 with a double and an RBI, Derrick Miner was 1-1 with two RBIs, Nik Erickson was 1-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Shae Heinrichs was 1-3 with an RBI.

For the Mustangs, Tyler Tonderum was 2-4 with a double.

A-R (7-10, 4-4) played against Harris-Lake Park on Wednesday. The Mustangs return to Lake Park Saturday for a tournament.

Spirit Lake (5-14) was at Sheldon on Wednesday. The Indians are at Emmetsburg on Friday.
