ELC frosh softball adds to win total

The Estherville Lincoln Central freshman softball team improved to 18-1-1 with two wins over Okoboji on Thursday.

ELC shut out the Pioneers 5-0 in the first game. Kendall Bosch pitched five innings, struck out nine batters and walked one without giving up a hit.

At the plate, Kelly Christensen was 2-3. Ashley Weston, Christina Tendal, Morgan Schichtl and Maggie Haugen each had one hit.

ELC won game two, 6-3.

Ashton Reisner pitched two innings, giving up one run, two hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

Melissa Gjerde pitched the final three innings. She gave up two hits with three strikeouts and one walk.

At the plate, Alyssa Johnson was 2-2 with two doubles and Tessa Bernholtz was 2-2 with a double and a triple. Also Sadie Winter was 1-2 with a bases-clearing triple, Jessica Phillips and Schichtl each were 1-1.

The ELC freshmen end the season with four games against Spencer next week-a home doubleheader on Monday and a doubleheader at Spencer on Thursday.
