Wolfpack rallies past Indians

SPIRIT LAKE – The Spirit Lake baseball team was unable to hold on to a 6-2 lead against Western Christian in Lakes conference play on Tuesday.

The Wolfpack outscored the Indians 12-1 over the final three innings to win 14-7.

Ethan Carlson pitched five innings giving up six runs on seven hits with 10 strikeouts.

Brad Engel pitched one inning, giving up three hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

Derrick Miner pitched one inning giving up three hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

At the plate, Nik Erickson was 3-3 with two doubles, Ryan Jennings was 1-2 with an RBI, Mitch Peschon was 1-3 with a solo home run and Cody Davis each was 1-3 with an RBI. Engel was 1-3 and Carlson and Miner each went 1-4 Engel and Carlson each had a double.

Spirit Lake played at Storm Lake on Wednesday. The indians are on the road against MOC-Floyd Valley next Wednesday.
