ELC frosh finish with 22 wins

SPENCER – The Estherville Lincoln Central freshman softball team completed the season with two victories over Spencer on Thursday.

ELC won game one 5-0. Kendall Bosch was the winning pitcher as she threw a one-hitter. She struck out 11 batters, including eight straight at one point, and gave up one walk.

At the plate, Ashley Weston was 2-3 while Sadie Winter, Christina Tendal and Trisha Nelson each had one hit.

ELC won game two 10-6.

Melissa Gjerde pitched three innings in the win. She gave up two runs, three hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Ashton Reisner closed out the game. She gave up four runs, six hits and one walk with one strikeout.

Winter was 3-3 with a three-run home run in the second inning. Tendal was 2-2 and Alyssa Johnson was 1-2.

Coached by Bob Kirchner, the ELC freshmen posted a 22-1-1 record.
