Four teams separated by just one game in the Lakes Conference softball race shows the league has a number of quality players this season.

Nine of the 17 first team selections were elected by unanimous ballot.

One of three teams to finish tied for second in league play, Estherville Lincoln Central was well represented in the all-conference balloting with eight members earning postseason honors.

Four players earned first team honors for the second consecutive year. Three Midgettes were unanimous ballot.

Senior pitcher Amanda Christensen was a unanimous selection for the second straight season. Also receiving the unanimous designation were shortstop Christa Clayton and outfielder Erin Beardsley.

Rounding out ELC’s first team selections is catcher Kristi Juergens.

Named to the second team for the second straight season were third baseman Melanie Bandow and outfielder Brenna Wegner, both seniors.

Second baseman Taylar Jacobson and first baseman Maggie Asman, both juniors, received honorable mention.

From Spirit Lake, junior first baseman Megan Ingvall was named to the second team. Receiving honorable mention were catcher Caila Jones and pitcher Mary Brown.
