2008 ELC Fall Sports Showcase is Friday

The Estherville Lincoln Central High School will host the ninth annual “Fall Sports Showcase” on Friday, Aug. 22. The night’s activities begin at 5:30 p.m. with scrimmages by the freshman, junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams in the high school gym.

The ELC Booster Club will sponsor a rib-eye steak sandwich tailgate meal at the football stadium following the volleyball scrimmage beginning at 6:30 p.m. and serving until 8 p.m.. Cost of the meal is $8 with proceeds going to fund various athletic projects.

The ELC Marching Band will perform at 7:10 p.m. p.m. Following the marching band, the ELC Drill team will perform its routines and be introduced. At 7:35 p.m. the ELCAR Cross Country Team will enter the stadium to finish their practice run on the track. Upon completion, all members of the team will be introduced. Introductions of the ELC volleyball team and coaches along with the girls swim team members will be next. Around 7:55 the Booster Club “Fan of the Year” will be presented.

The freshman, junior varsity and varsity football teams will be scrimmaging beginning around 8 p.m. Introductions of all squad members will be made. The 2008 football cheerleading squad will also be introduced and cheering during the scrimmage.

Admission to the scrimmages is a bottle of sport drink that will be used by the various teams when they travel to their competitions.
