Lakers earn another split

The Iowa Lakes Community College volleyball team earned a split for the second day in a row to finish its tournament with a 2-2 record.

On Saturday, the Lakers fell to Central Community College, 3-1 by scores 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-19 and then came back to beat Central Lakes 3-0 by scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.

Iowa Lakes coach Scott Tschetter said his team just had too many errors against Central Community College.

For the day, Erin Jacobsen led the Laker attack with 34 kills-16 against Central and 18 against Central Lakes.

Teegan Hunziker had 17 kills along with a team-high 34 digs.

Martha Stover had 64 set assists.

Defensively, Alison Albers had 14 blocks and Rachael Nelson had 11 blocks.

Iowa Lakes (3-9) hosts Ellsworth at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
