Knights to face another rated foe

GRAETTINGER – After starting the 8-player game with a 40-38 victory over Aurelia, the schedule doesn’t get any easier for Graettinger/Terril.

For today’s home opener and Parents’ Night, the Knights take on Remsen-Union, rated No. 6 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 8 in the Radio Iowa poll.

“For our first experience in 8-man, we enjoyed for the weekend,” said G/T coach Karlton Hector of his team’s win. “But we can’t get too excited. We have a lot of learning and a long road ahead.”

Hector said Remsen-Union features several big, athletic guys. The Rockets rolled over Ruthven-Ayrshire 53-6 last week.

“They have a very athletic quarterback. The option and the lead play appear to be their favorites,” he said. “Defensively, they blitzed their linebackers a lot. If we can pick them up, we should be all right.”

Hector said his team should match up well in both speed and size.

“It should be a close game unless one of the teams makes too many mistakes,” he said.
