Indians fall to Rebels

SIOUX RAPIDS – The Spirit Lake football team was the 100th victim of Sioux Central coach Jeff Tiefenthaler who earned the century mark in career victories with the 21-7 win on Friday.

Tiefenthaler’s son, quarterback Trevor, scored all three of the Rebels’ touchdowns, rushing 24 times for 137 yards.

For Spirit Lake, Nik Erickson scored on a 1-yard dive in the second quarter. The kick gave them the Indians a brief 7-6 advantage.

The Indians had 202 yards of offense.

Spirit Lake (0-2) hosts Rock Valley/Boyden Hull on Friday.
