Mustangs roll past Wolverines
WEST BEND – Ridge Christiansen rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another in Armstrong-Ringsted’s 65-22 victory over West Bend-Mallard on Friday.
Tyler Tonderum also ran in a pair of scores while Tanner LaBore caught Christansen’s 59-yard touchdown pass and also had a 57-yard kickoff return.
Coach Robert Zotz said he was very happy with his team’s performance.
“We played all four quarters and took care of business,” he said. “We’ve been on the road for two weeks and look forward to playing at home on Friday.”
A-R only scored once in the first quarter, a 6-yard run by Christiansen, but out-scored the Wolverines 28-8 in the second quarter for a 35-8 halftime lead. Christiansen had a 5-yard run and then the 59-yard pass to LaBore and then a 1-yard run. Tonderum closed out the half with 20-yard score.
Ethan Eisenbacher was perfect on all five extra points in the first half.
In the third quarter, Christiansen scored on a 30-yard run with a two-point conversion pass to Cody Hantelman. LaBore then had the kickoff return after the Wolverines scored. Tonderum added the two-point conversion
In the final quarter, Tonderum scored on a 52-yard with J.D. Thackery adding on the point-after. Spencer Clausen scored on a 39-yard run with Thackery kicking the extra point.
A-R rushed for 386 yards led by Tonderum with 189,Followed by Christiansen with 73, LaBore with 58, Clausen with 48 and Dakota Oderman with 18.
Christiansen was 2-4 passing for 40 yards. labore had one catch for 39 and Tonderum had the other for a yard.
Travis Hantelman led the defense with 14 tackles while Seth Anderson had 11.
LaBore and Cody Hantelman each had a fumble recovery and Tonderum had an interception.
A-R (3-0) hosts Twin River Valley on Friday for homecoming.
