Lakers take second at home
The Iowa Lakes women’s golf team finished second at its tournament on Friday.
Iowa Western won the meet with a 353 while the Lakers finished with a 364.
April Wolf took medalist honors with an 83 while teammate Ricca Soper tied for third with an 85.
Abby Hohensee finished 12th with a 95 and Katie Heddiger was 14th with a 101.
Non-counting score was a 108 from Lauren Hartman.
Ronding out the team scoring, Des Moines Area Community College was fourth with a 403 and North Iowa Area Community College with 425. Ellsworth and Minnesota West also had golfers at the meet, but neither had a full team.
The Iowa Lakes men split into two teams. The Blue Team finished tied for second with a 309. The Gold Team finished sixth with a 337.
Kirkwood won with a 303.
North Iowa Area Community College’s Steven Wybomy was medalist with a 72.
Iowa Lakes was led by Max Koster who carded a 75. AJ Appel carded a 77, Nick Christensen had a 78 and Scott Benson had a 79.
Non-counting score was an 80 by Jarvis Weber.
The Laker Gold Team was led by Ross McLaughlin, who also had a 77. Joel Keady shot an 82 and Caleb Faber Nick Skinner each shot 89s.
NIACC tied the Lakers for second with a 309. Rounding out the scoring were Dordt College with 315, Buena Vista University JV shot 335, Iowa Lakes Gold, Ellsworth with a 338, Des Moines Area Community with a 341 and Minnesota West with 361.
