Lakers sweep Tritons
FORT DODGE – The Iowa Lakes volleyball team swept Iowa Central in a battle of the undefeated teams in Region XI’s North Division on Monday.
Iowa Lakes won by scores of 25-18, 25-13, 25-20.
“We’re playing better and our pointed in the right direction,” said Iowa Lakes coach Scott Tschetter. “Other than Teegan (Hunziker), most of our other players our playing in different spots than the start of the season. It seems to be working.”
Hunziker led the Lakers with 11 kills and 14 digs.
Alison Albers had 25 set assists.
Caitlyn Moore had seven ace serves while Erin Jacobsen and Albers each had five blocks.
The Lakers expected a little more challenge from the Tritons (8-12, 3-1).
“This past weekend we played well, but I’m still not sure where we’re at,” said Tschetter. “I know how good we should be, but we’re still not fast enough to play with the top four teams in the country.”
Iowa Lakes (10-13, 3-0) hosts Marshalltown (9-7, 1-1) at 7 p.m. today.
