A/ELC swim team places

DES MOINES – The Algona/Estherville Lincoln Central Girls Swim team finished sixth in the Polar Bear Invitational at North High School in Des Moines on Saturday.

“We dropped time again today and everyone finished with a top six finish to get to the award stand which was good,” said coach Jim Fisher.

The 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams both finished fourth. The medley team of Missy Zadow, Liz Humble, Kendall Bosch and Hanna Degen finished in 2 minutes, 27.40 seconds.

The 200 freestyle team of Lauren Boggess Zadow, Bosch and Degen finished in 2.01.90.

Individual finishes are as follows.

Degen placed fourth in the 100 freestyle in 1:04.12 and fifth in the 50 freestyle in 28.41 seconds.

Zadow placed eighth in the 50 freestyle in 30.66 seconds and she was fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1.25.82.

Humble was 14th in the 200 freestyle at 3.09.77 and eighth in the 100 breaststroke at 1.43.31.

Boggess placed 14th in the 100 freestyle in 1.12.63 and eighth in the 200 freestyle in 2.41.20

Bosch placed third in the 200 individual in 2.39.59 and third in the 100 butterfly at 1.13.72.

The team travels to Storm Lake on Thursday.
