Knights blow away Panthers
CORWITH – The Graettinger/Terril volleyball team got back on the winning track with a 3-0 win over Corwith-Wesley-Luverne on Thursday.
The Knights won easily by scores of 25-9, 25-7 and 25-14.
“The Knights made a commitment to be fired up tonight and that they did,” said G/T coach Teresa Alesch. “The energy illuminated the gym and seemed to liven up the crowd. We also had a goal to be quick on our feet and this really improved our front line attacks.The girls hit hard!”
Theresa Petersen and Tasha Neilson each had 12 kills in the game and Malorie Girres had six.
Lindsay Flaharty had 24 set assists.
Serving, Petersen had 22 serves with six aces, Girres had 14 serves with two aces and Neilson had 12 serves with two aces.
Defensively, Petersen had 11 digs and Neilson had nine.
“This seems odd to say, but I think tonight was the most fun the Knights had – it was refreshing,” said Alesch.
