A/ELC swim team drops double dual
STORM LAKE – The Algona/Estherville Lincoln Central High School Girls Swim team dropped a double dual on Thursday at Storm Lake.
Spencer won 75-18 and Storm lake won 59-30.
“We switched up several events for the girls to see what we could do.” said coach Jim Fisher. “We had some better times and some new times for people which will show us what different events we can swim next time out.”
Top individual finishers were Deb Weideman and Liz Humble placing third and fourth in the 200 freestyle with times of 2 minutes, 47.63 seconds and 3:09.79.
In the 100 breaststroke stroke they finished second and third with Weideman swimming 1:32.81 and Humble in 1:40.99.
Kendall Bosch was second in both the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly. She swam 2:36.30 in the 200 and 1:11.7 in the 100 fly.
Lauren Boggess placed fourth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:13.17.
All three relay teams took a second place with the 200 medley team finishing in 2:23.21 the 200 freestyle team swam 2:02.2 and the 400 swam 5:05.57.
All four girls swam on various relays.
Next up the girls travel to Spencer on Oct. 13 for another double dual meet. The team is 2-4 on the season.
