Spirit Lake offense stymied by Warriors

SPIRIT LAKE – In the final home game for Spirit Lake, the Indians didn’t find much success against Sioux Center on Friday.

The visiting Warriors stingy defense held Spirit Lake to just 108 yards of offense-33 on the ground and 75 through the air.

Nik Erickson was the leading rusher with 19 yards on 11 carries.

Tyler Solsma had some success passing as he was 7-of-18 for 75 yards including a 5-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Heidebrink in the fourth quarter.

Heidebrink had three catches for 33 yards. David Dinklage caught to passes for 15 yards, Derek Halquist caught one pass for 14 yards and Erickson had one catch for 13 yards.

Defensively, Rick Wilson had 14 tackles while Erickson and Heidebrink each had 10 tackles. Mitch Peschon had nine tackles. Dennis Peter recovered a fumble.

The Indians (1-6, 1-4) travels to Unity Christian on Friday.
