Knights romp past Raiders
GRAETTINGER – Graettinger/Terril didn’t give Ruthven-Ayrshire any breaks in a 71-0 victory for the Knights’ homecoming on Friday.
Graettinger/Terril came out ready to go and scored the first 21 points in under seven minutes.
The Knights first drive started at their own 37 and the Raiders made a tackle for a 4-yard loss on first down.
But on second down, Cody Dyhrkopp connected with Beau Craig on a 47-yard pass. Following the Morton Utoft kick, Graettinger/Terril led 7-0 less than a minute into the game.
Ruthven-Ayrshire went nowhere on its drive and on fourth down, Kass Schany broke through to block the punt. the Knights recovered on the 5-yard line and two runs by Jake Hoffman-the second from 2-yards out, gave the home team a 14-0 edge with 8:34 on the clock.
The Knights again had good play from special teams as Drew Skattebo returned the Ruthven-Ayrshire’s next punt to the 12-yard line.
On the next play from scrimmage, Skattebo was tackled for a 3-yard loss, but then Hoffman found room up the middle on a 15-yard run With Utoft’s third kick, the Knights led 21-0.
The Knights amassed 327 yards rushing and 98 yards through the air.
Skattebo led the way with 151 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown. Hoffman only had five carries for 43 yards, but had two touchdowns.
Jeremiah Andrews had 65 yards on six carries and two touchdowns.
Eric Hatland had 44 yards on four carries and a touchdown and Heath Marchand had 17 yards on four carries with a touchdown.
Dyhrkopp was 3-4 passing for 83 yards and three scores. Craig had the one catch for 46 yards, James Tatman had a touchdown catch from 33 yards out and Schany had a touchdown catch from 4 yards out.
Also Hatland was 1-1 passing for 15 yards.
